How to choose a ceramic magnet
When choosing a ceramic magnet, consider the grade, coating requirements and operating temperature of your application.
Grade
Check the grade listed on the individual product page, as this affects magnetic performance. Several products in our current ceramic range are Grade 5, but specifications vary by product.
Coating
Ceramic ferrite magnets are naturally resistant to corrosion and generally do not require a protective coating. If you’re choosing a housed or assembled magnet, check the full product construction for your application.
Temperature
Ceramic magnets are generally more heat-resistant than neodymium magnets, but suitability depends on the specific grade, design and operating conditions. If your application involves elevated temperatures, contact us to discuss the requirements before selecting a magnet.
