Why choose ceramic magnets?

Ceramic magnets are commonly selected when cost-effective, reliable magnetic performance and natural corrosion resistance are important. They are used across motors, speakers, sensors, holding applications, fixtures and educational or technical applications.

Jobmaster Magnets offers ceramic magnets in several formats and sizes, including block magnets, disc magnets, ring magnets and round base magnets, giving you several options to match the magnet to your installation and application.

Popular applications for ceramic magnets

Ceramic magnets are commonly used in:

       Electric motors and generators

       Loudspeakers and audio equipment

       Sensors and electrical assemblies

       Holding and mounting fixtures

       Workshop and educational applications

How to choose a ceramic magnet

When choosing a ceramic magnet, consider the grade, coating requirements and operating temperature of your application.

Grade

Check the grade listed on the individual product page, as this affects magnetic performance. Several products in our current ceramic range are Grade 5, but specifications vary by product.

Coating

Ceramic ferrite magnets are naturally resistant to corrosion and generally do not require a protective coating. If you’re choosing a housed or assembled magnet, check the full product construction for your application.

Temperature

Ceramic magnets are generally more heat-resistant than neodymium magnets, but suitability depends on the specific grade, design and operating conditions. If your application involves elevated temperatures, contact us to discuss the requirements before selecting a magnet.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are ceramic magnets brittle?

Yes. Ceramic ferrite magnets are hard but brittle, so they can chip or crack if dropped or subjected to impact. They shouldn't be used as a structural component where the magnet itself needs to withstand mechanical stress.

Can I order ceramic magnets in large quantities?

Yes. We supply both large and small orders of stocked ceramic and ferrite magnets. If you have specific quantity, sizing or application requirements, contact us, and we can discuss the most appropriate option.

Can you help with custom ceramic magnet requirements?

Yes. We can help with custom ceramic magnet requirements, including application-specific ceramic or ferrite magnets. Contact us with details about your intended use, size constraints and operating environment, and we can discuss the options available.

Do you ship ceramic magnets outside Canada?

Yes. We ship our stock ceramic magnets worldwide. Shipping costs depend on your order weight, selected service and destination, with estimated shipping costs available before you place your order.
